| Located within Central Park dates to 1864-7,
the fountain suggests the story of The Pool of Bethesda (John v, 2-4). It was designed and executed by Emma Stebbins in Rome. The figure of the angel is represented blessing the waters. The four small figures typify the blessings of Temperance, Purity, Health and Peace. |
